1778 April Allen and Jeremiah Simpson, were in Lower Oxford Co., 2d Batt., Capt. Hays Ms. Simpson suggests Jeremiah might be the son of John Simpson of Northumberland County (from Pa. Simpson, p. 111) ("I have to agree with Helen on this although, just to make things interesting, there is a Jeremiah Simpson in Maryland in 1680-something, who I've always wondered about.
