Pennsylvania: Cumberland County

Cumberland County, Pennsylvania was formed 1750 from Lancaster County


1744 "Mary Simpson, dau of Andrew Simpson of Cumberland Co.,PA. and his wife Ann West was born 1744. She married 3 times, 1st Samuel Barr, 2nd Richard Wallace and 3rd James Guthrie. I couldn't find the children she had by Guthrie, but I know there was at least one son, James Guthrie Jr. I think this James Guthrie of Greene Co., TN is this fellow." -from Bonnie Simpson-Valko)

1769 April 3 Samuel Simeson applied for 300 acres of land on Sewickley Creek which was located in the section of Cumberland County that later became Westmoreland and even later became Fayette County.
